Nothing prepared us for the colossal success that has become of Music Makes Music. It seems like it was just a skimmed-over idea a few days ago. Now, thousands of students later, the momentum and support that are being enjoyed by our organization is nothing short of a miracle. The most rewarding part has been seeing the response from the kids. Reading the daily emails from students and hearing the testimonials from the administrators are what make it all worth it. My eyes were misty and my arms had goosebumps as I recently stood and listened to the Choir Class at Madison High School in Idaho perform for us after an event at their school. I needed nothing else to help reassure me of the value of what we are doing. It made all the sacrifices worth it. This is an interesting time in our country's history. There are causes for fear and feelings of uncertainty . In a time where businesses are hurting and economies failing, it has been humbling to see the support we have received from those that understand our cause and believe in what we are doing.
Art and Music are my life. As an artist, I feel it is my duty to share music and art with others the best way I know how.
I also hope to raise awareness about music programs and how vital they are as part of a well rounded, complete education. It is our goal to help students that music education can start at school with band, choir and orchestra. The notes are the same. the theory is the same in classical and rock. Our mission is to keep the youth excited about music and the role it plays in their lives and hope that they become the musicians and ambassadors for art in the future.
We have brought in some amazing people to work with us and we have partnered with business owners that we can't thank enough. Our list of partners is growing every day and we hope to continue to inspire communities everywhere to get involved. This is what we love to do and hope to keep doing it until we physically can't.
It's been an amazing first season and we expect to be pleasantly surprised many seasons to come.
