On behalf of everyone at Music Makes Music we would like to thank you for an amazing first year! We are very excited to be starting out 2010 with a huge amount of momentum carried over from 09. During our first year in service, we reached out to more than 25,000 Utah teenagers, encouraging music participation and offering real world options for involvement with music in their school and their communities. The success of Music Makes Music is nothing short of incredible and none of it would be possible without all our amazing sponsors, participating schools, new fans, friends and volunteers.
We begin 2010 with a very clear and defined direction. Currently, we are on schedule to work with over 50,000 teenagers in three new states and this is during the first semester alone! We also have many new sponsors on board that are going to help us grow to levels we never imagined reaching. On top of all this, we have a new member on the Music Makes Music team. Karen Zgonc has taken over as our VP of Marketing and Development and from the short time she has been with us, we have already felt the impact.
Another exciting development for 2010 is our new performances. We spent the holidays analyzing what worked and didn’t work with the Music Makes Music performances last year and we are now excited to offer an even more educational and interactive assembly that will hopefully inspire more future musicians!
I would also like to mention one sponsor who has gone above and beyond anything we ever expected from them. Performance Audio in Salt Lake City has made all of this possible by donating our entire ultra high-end professional audio system. Without them the full force of the Music Makes Music performance would only be a shell of what it is today. So please stop in and show your support for our new friends.
Music is who we are, it is what we live for and it is what we yearn to share. It takes music to inspire musicians and we feel very fortunate to be able to deliver the message of Music Makes Music to teenagers today. But we cannot do what we do without your support. By clicking the donate button on our home page and giving whatever you can or by volunteering at a Music Makes Music event, you are helping us pass on the importance of music to our younger generation. Thank you and please stay tuned, there are more amazing things to come!!
